Default 2012 tuning

I'm by no means well versed in this sort of thing, and my search didn't pull up what I was looking for... maybe someone can educate me... but if the Challenger is rocking 305 HP with the Pentastar, would it not be a matter of someone like Superchips building a module to reprogram the JK's Pentastar? Or is it not as easy as I make it sound? I am assuming torque remains the same regardless? Or am I wrong there?

Thanks!

The companies like bully dog and superchips are working on cracking the codes for 12s to adjust power and what not. The problem is two live axles 4 wheel hi and low transfer cases etc. Your pentastar is not tuned for a challenger... A challenger is not tuned for your jeep.

Fueling, shift points, yada yada. Completely different.

Those companies will eventually make your rocketship faster. Be patient. :-)

Yeah, I understand there is a lot that goes into it, and the JK is by no means a sports car... just never looked into any tuning stuff when I had my 2008. Thanks for the info!

I believe that the Challenger 3.6L is using different cams.

I am willing to bet the JK 3.6 torque curve is far better suited for the Jeep than the higher H/P challenger would be. Peak H/P is not a target to shoot for.

From what i read the difference in the output is only based on the intake and exhaust set up. The challenger has dual exhaust and longer intake tubes or something like that. I even read that the fuel mapping is the same program etc. This is what i read.....if its true or not i don't know.

305 horses or not, by the time you finish modding your rig, you'll be kissing away like 50% of that power away by the time those horses make it to the rear wheels.
