Default 2012 vacuum pump bracket removal?

Has anybody removed the bracket from the frame all together? I've read all about relocating the pump for aftermarket bumpers, but I need the bracket gone and wondering how much of a PITA it is. The reason I need it gone is because I wanted reuse the MBRP light bar I took of my 2010. If its not worth fighting with the bracket.

I had to cut mine off to get a winch in. It took all of about 5 seconds with a reciprocating saw and a metal cutting blade from Lowes. I was all worried about it too, but it cut like butter

A plazma cutter made quick work of my pump bracket. I flipped the swaybar disconect and removed the lower crossbar as well.
What is the vacumm pump for anyway?

I put my old mopar bumper on 2012 and cut off bracket, removed and plugged vacuum pump lines. I have not noticed any ill effect. My guess is it is used for start up low vac conditions. My wife's sky has very poor vacuum assist when first started. Almost scary on a hill. Jeep does not seem near as bad.

yup. Now why Chrysler decided to go with a vacuum pump and vacuum assist breaks is beyond me. If they needed a vacuum pump they would have been better off tapping into the power steering and doing hydro assist breaks and eliminating the pump. But what do i know.

I had no access to such quality tools.
30 minutes with a keyhole saw with a metal cutting blade, two busted knuckles, and the bracket was gone.

I did the ORO relo bracket this evening. Took me about an hour to get it done. Real easy.

Now, ready to cut the bracket off. I don't expect any issues. Will use either a cut off wheel or saw all with a metal cutting blade.

Good luck.
