Once in a while, in 4lo, when dropping the trans into drive, nothing happens for a few (3-5) seconds. Shift into reverse, then back to drive, and away we go. Hard to duplicate. Happened on a ride twice yesterday. Weather wasn't hot (75) and the trail wasn't difficult.

A friend has a 2013 JKR and has experienced the same thing, but the dealer could not duplicate the problem. Big surprise ...

When I take it in for it's steering hose recall in July, I'll at least get the dealer to put the issue on paper, but am wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and found a solution.

I have the same problem coming out of deep creeks. I have no clue why.

 

It can been a little unnearving on switchbacks that you have to go back and forth a couple of time to get around. All of a sudden there is no go ...

 

Happened to me today as well. 2012 auto. Hesitation before kicking into gear. Looks like ecu issue.

 

It's happened to me as well, 2012 auto trans. Only happens when I'm really running her hard though, so it seems to be more of a fail safe than anything else. As if its waiting for everything to spool down a bit before shifting, so nothing breaks.
