How much louder than stock was it with just the flow master and no resonator? I'd love to get rid of the muffler in the stock location just because I hate the way it looks hanging down back there. The catch is that I have a 2 and 4 year old so I still want them to sleep in their car seats.

It's maybe a little quieter than just the resonator, but has a deeper tone

I got an old yoshimura pipe from my GSXR 750. I should drop the muffler and TIG it on and drive around see how it sounds.

I was thinking one of those rice fart cans. But a good one. Bc it has a Italian sound.

Take the muffler off, cut out resonator, and put in a flowmaster super 44 and it will sound just as good if not better than any aftermarket catback exhaust.

You will need a 2.5" in/out muffler.
A lot of people run this muffler we use in many of our cat-back systems for the JK platform.

Is it about the same size as the resonator?

I did not like the sound of the exhaust after removing the muffler. It was a little too loud and like others said, at higher rpm's it sounds awful. It almost sounds like its choking when downshifting, like it needs the back pressure. Ive thought about adding a Magnaflow or Dynomax muffler in place of the resonator similar to the one above by Dynomax. Way cheaper to just swap out an $80-100 muffler than paying $200+ more for pre-bent tubing with hangers already attached. For some reason I cant bring myself to consider Flowmaster, reminds me too much of my sh***y V6 '88 Camaro I drove in high school.
