Default 2014 Questions

Hey Guys, i recently traded in my 09 JKU for a 14 JKU Sport and have a few questions

On the 09 with 2.5/3"+ inches of lift, if you disconnected your front sway bar links you could possibly tear the DS boot on the transmission pan.
Since the 14 has a new engine/tranny does anyone know if this is the case with a 14'?

and are exhaust spacers required for a 2.5" teraflex coil lift on a 14'. I know in the past that they were but i recently read on here from some sponsor (cant remember who) that the exhaust spacers are no longer required for only 2.5" lift on a 14'

Thanks!

The drive shaft will contact the exhaust cross over. I installed the spacers, I think it's necessary, but opinions differ.

I have a 2014 JKURX. I have a 3" Mopar lift. I have the exhaust spacer installed. I have also replaced my front drive shaft boot. I think the boot rubbed on the chinsy and bent cross member that runs in front of the transfer case skid, but I'm not sure exactly what caused it to rip. After removing the flimsy piece and installing the Rock Hard oil pan/trans skid I haven't had any issues with the front drive shaft.

Yes, you need the exhaust spacer for the 2.5" Teraflex lift

There is even less clearace on the 3.6 models. Exhaust work or add a limit strap at the differential.

Teraflex told me them self that the exhaust spacer isn't needed for a 2.5" on a 14 if you use their shocks

Buy new drive shaft, tom woods or je reel. Problem solved.

Because their shocks limit droop, which is a dumb solution.

I used the spaces, but I would have gone with the AFE Y-Pipe had the budget allowed.

Exhaust Systems Y-Pipe MACH Force XP Y-Pipe 2/2.5" Stainless Steel Exhaust System; Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 12-14 V6-3.6L (4 Dr) (Automatic Trans) 49-46215 - aFe Power

This relocates the exhaust cross over to behind the cross member where it belongs.

You only needed them if you are disconnecting your sway bars. But it all depends how you wheel it, some just trail some just rock crawl, some don't
