255 Tires
Is anyone running a 255/85 tire on stock rims? Is there any rubbing issue with that size. And if so is there a 15 inch rim anyone recommends not to rub just trying to save a few bucks.
I don't have 255/85 tires on my jk, but I have seen them on this forum and the member that had them said there was no rubbing during on road conditions. Can't remember exactly where I saw this. Maybe the "show your 33s" thread.
I just put a set of 255/80/17 BFG Mud Terrains on my JK Unlimited. They are on the stock wheels, no lift, no wheel spacers. they fit great, no rubbing but I haven't been off road yet. I like them a lot, I am able to use overdrive again, I took off my lift and 35's to try to get a little more fuel mileage. These tires are only an inch shorter, but 2.5 inches narrower and 20 pounds lighter, something to think about.

255-85-16 BFG KM2's on Stock 16's. They rubbed at full lock, I put spider trax on to fix it. No rubbing flexing but I have flat fenders, I would think it would rub without the flats but i'm also running a winch and bumper with some of the weakest stock springs available.
I've got the 1.5 inch Spidertrax spacers already. I was debating between the 255/80/17s and the 285/70/17s. Now I'm considering the 295/70/17s as well. No lift, yet... might do a 2" in the future. No plans to regear. I've got a 2011 3.8 auto JKU with 3.73s. I'm one of the guys that has no complaints about the power of the 3.8...
