Default 265/75/16 or 285/75/16?

Trying to decide between going with 265/75/16 or 285/75/16. How much more aggressive does the 285's look compared to the 265's. I think there is about a 1" difference in height and width between the two. Does it make a noticeable difference in appearance on a stock height JK Unlimited? Does anybody have any pics comparing the the two on a JK (front and side view)? Thanks for the help.

I just made that change on my jeep. It does have a more aggressive look and will raise it up about an inch. I've been quite pleased with the results and have only lost about 1mpg. I say go for it if you're thinking about making the change.

Default 265/75r16

Here are some 265/75/R16s they are Fierce Attitude Mud Terrains and are are around 31.5" tall.

Stock no lift or spacers

Same tires with 2.5" Teraflex coil lift and spider traxx wheel spacers

And these are same tires with lift and an additional 1" coil spacer in rear and some front sag due to winch I am sure.

No pics of 285's yet but I will this summer after I get the regear and front axle beefed up at NorthRidge.

Thumbs up Nice pics!

Thanks for posting these pics. I've been debating which way to go with my stock steelies. Even though I have a 2 door, 265s don't look too small on your 4 door.

Go with the 285's if you don't you won't be happy. I did 285's then added a 2.5 lift and now I wish I went bigger.

Default yo

heres my 285 pro comp xtreme mud terrains with a rough country 2.5" lift. I wouldnt have minded going to 35's but I dont have the cash to regear right now and go to a bigger lift.. I am happy with what I have though.

First pic are stock rims, stock 265/75/17? I think... Second pic is procomp 7069 with treadwright guard dogs 285/75/16, both on stock suspension.
