Default yes you need spacers

and the 285 75 17 will have very very limited choices. I searched the tirerack site and only BFG KM2 comes in 285 75 17, same search for 285 70 17 yields 4 pages of tire options.

I have toyo mt 285/75/17- on my jku with stock rims with 1.5 spider tracks will spacers 56k on the tires and still going strong. I have teraflex coil lift with 1 inch total 3.5 lift great tire for on road and off road. If you just have a leveling kit you will need bump stops for off road.
