Default 285/70/17

Looking for pictures of 285/70/17 tires with no lift. Thinking of this set up pictures will help me make a decision. Thanks.

I just put these 285/70/17 KO2s on last week. Spec sheet says they should be 32.7 inch diameter compared with the stock 255/70/17 MTs spec at 32 inches. I measured the new tires (on the Jeep) at 32.0 and the originals (on an off-road trailer I have) at 31.5. I really like the new tires. Very smooth on the road, good snow/ice traction. The MTs had worn unevenly (rotated several times in 21000 miles) and vibrated, rough ride. Last time balanced one needed six ounces of weights. These tires haven't been off-road yet but I don't have any tire rubs or anything. GPS speed seems to agree with speedometer.

I have 285/75R17 currently on stock suspension until the spring. I did have to go with new wheels to prevent rubbing on road, however off road I get into the fenders pretty good. Setup is Toyo AT2 Extreme w/ 17x9 Vision Soft 8 (4.5 backspacing).

haven't done so yet but I will be going with the new Nitto Ridge Grapple 285/70/17, spring leveling kit and then cutting the stock fenders to open up for wheel travel if I ever need it. The Ntto's are spec'd at 33.3" and not super wide so I think I can get away without spacers or new wheels, thats the hope anyway.

No spacers. It's a 2013 Rubicon so the springs make it sit a little higher than other stock Jeeps.

Would you rub without your spacers?

Will 1.5 spacers push the tires out beyond the fenders with 285/70/17s. I don't have the tires yet or I'd measure myself.

I suspect that with spacers (and stock bump stops) the tires will rub the fenders at full tilt of the axle (axles crossed) and some weight in the Jeep -- That's what it looked like on mine. Bump stops compress, so actual clearance is necessary to prevent contact.

What I did was put a small washer under each steering stop bolt to keep 285/70-17 tires from rubbing at full turn. The amount it changes the turn radius is negligible -- And since it reduces the steering angle slightly, it's potentially easier on the front axle u-joints.
