Default 285/70R17, no spacers?

Looking at the first faq under wheels/tires on this section - it states that many are running 33x10.5 with little to no rubbing. Is there anyone out there that has experience with this?
To give background, I have a 2 door rubi with a 1-3/4" daystar lift. I am currently running 17x8 unique (same as cragar, etc.) soft 8's with 4.5" backspace. On those are 285/70R17 (33x10.5) goodyear mtr w/kevlar.

I LOVE the tires, not so crazy about the rims. I would like to go back to my stock rims, but I do not want to run spacers. I don't mind the look of the tires being tucked in the fenderwells either.

So what does everyone think? Will I have rubbing issues? I do moderate wheeling once in a while. Any thoughts are REALLY appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked your rear sway end links? Are they close now?

As far as I can tell, I have a good amount of space everywhere right now. Honestly it seems to me like 4.5 backspace is a bit much for that width of tire, but I AM a rank amateur at all this. Any thoughts? I do think it will work too, but like I said I don't wheel that often, but when I do, it is some pretty hairy trails, so I don't want to be dealing with rubbing. Thanks for any and all info.

I have 285/70/17's on my rubi.
I only rub at full lock when I turn very sharp.
mine are 11.5's

I have those tires on stock rims, I would rub at full lock. I have no lift.

I'm running BFG all terrains 285 on my stock 17" rims and they rubbed when I made sharp turns. Got rugged ridge spacers and runs fine and gives the tires a meaner look.
