yea with a second vehicle (Thats 4x4), and recovery straps etc. you can probably make it where you want to go.

Hi! If you can budget to have an air or electric locker installed I think you will be amazed at where you can go. Getting the assist that the locker will provide will make all the difference in the world (other than 4wd). Just use it when absolutely needed as steering is tougher in 4wd and horrible when you dial in the lockers. Both tend to "push" the vehicle into a corner. Use your better steering ability as your advantage! Take care... Mike

I don't want rain on anybodies parade, but I had a rear locker in my truck and all it was good for was pulling a boat off the launch ramp. tried it in the dirt and got good and stuck. I think I would go with the winch they do the job. As long as you have a anchor point.

The cost would be less then an ARB air locker. That just my personal experience I've had with a two wheel drive.

Well..there's no substitute for a pulling front axle with all that engine weight bearing down on it. I think you already know that, though. I believe you have adaquate tires. I wouldn't spend money there, unless you are planning on lots of mud. You did just mention trail riding. That's different than mud. I think the others are right on track. Locker, winch and good bumpers with recovery points, cause you will be using them. Maybe a 2" or 2.5" budget boost. Don't wheel alone. Maybe George Thoroughgood could do a rewrite. Don't forget a good CB radio too.

You can get an Aussie Locker for the rear pretty cheap & it's a self install or at least a local shop can install it.

I disagree with those that say a 2WD with a rear locker doesn't help. If you get one tire up in the air with open Diffs you are in trouble.

If you get a winch, make it a big one (10K) since the gumbo mud is a bit sticky.

RIGHT you are, my fellow yeller friend! I can't see how a locker won't help in nearly every situation or application. Except maybe in ice.
