what exactly is a carrier for people that had 3.21 and are changing gears????

If you are moving up from the 3.21's you need a larger carier to hold the gears in the D30...

 

its suposed that a unlimited sahara automatic is 3.73 or so gears..... but somewhere in this forum ive read that 2009 maybe put some 3.21 gears again, where can i know for sure??? or this is imposible for being an automatic?

I am sure those with more knowledge will chime in, but I am about 95% sure that Autos have 3.73....If you have your window sticker it will tell you. You can also go to Jeep.com and fill out the form and they will send you your build sheet.

 

Just for curiosity I went to jeep.com dealer inventory’s and looked at the window stickers for no less than 10 new 09 unlimiteds every one showed 3.21’s as standard equipment but every one also showed under optional equipment showed 3.73’s had been added so you may be OK, it seems that someone that is doing the ordering knows something, the best way to find out is the window sticker, I am not sure they put tags on the rears anymore, I just had mine changed last week and did not find anything on the rear that indicated what gears it had.
