Default 3" or 4" lift??

Hi guys,

My 2011 green JKU Sahara 6sp on 3.73 comes in a week or two and I plan to buy some parts for mods. My JK will be my DD. I should go wheel 1 or 2 week-end per month (don't think I will do heavy rock crawling). I planned to ride 35" tires on 15 rims. Do you guys think a 4" lift with 35" will look silly? so I need to think about running 37" (with front D30 ?? hissh)?

Here is some lift kits I'm looking too:

-TeraFlex JK 4-Dr 4" Suspension System w/Full FlexArm System w/Shocks
-Full Traction JK 4-Dr 4" Ultimate Suspension System with M-force shocks
-Rough Country JK 4-Dr 4" X-series Suspension
or
-TeraFlex JK 4-DR 3" Suspension System w/Full FlexArm System & Shocks. I've heard the Teraflex 3" suspension sits around 4 1/4" once installed?
(I imagine i will have to buy separatly front and rear track bar for the 3" ?)

Of course with these changes I plan also to get a Flashpaq Superchip(or AEV ProCal, still not sure), add RR XDH front/rear bumpers and regear to 4.88 and add lockers at the same times.

What about steering stabilizer??

Feel free to give me your opinions and post some pics of you lifted rig....thanks!!

Phil

TF 4" lift with 8 flexarms and 35"s, doesn't look silly at all in my opinion

I'm running the TF 3" and yes, it's aound 4". IMO is is perfect for 35s. I don't have any pictures to share, but you can find some others on here in the show and tell forum. Most will recommend an adjustable front trackbar. I did the TF monster bar. The kit comes with a rear relocate bracket which is fine. You'll want to have this welded up because they are known to break with some decent wheeling. Some will tell you that you need a better stabilizer, but I don't personally think so. I'm still running my stock one. Many will agree with this, some will say you need to upgrade. Good luck.

héhé, sorry...maybe silly was not the good word. A bit small would be better. Yep, according to you, it looks more than great... nice rig!

No worries and thanks As you look over the forum you will read lots of stuff that comes with doing a lift. You have an unlimited so your DS is not really a factor but at certain heights certain things start becoming an issue. Hd trackbars are a great start as well as high steering kits and possibly axles and other things of that nature. Its a can of worms once you start to go 3" or higher. Good luck

check the old man emu setup that includes long travel shocks and HD coils.

rides really really smooth on the road. my rig is 90% on road and the ride is very comforting.

Unless there is a reason you need the extra height, I might recommend a slightly shorter lift and flat flares. If you do go with a taller lift, be sure to budget for driveshafts also. With a 4door, the rear should be ok, but plan on replacing the front at some point. (especially with that TF 4", which should put you over 5...)

Also consider as many axle strengthening mods as your budget will allow.

Thanks for comments!

In fact, I'm reading on the forum since 2 months ago trying to find the right way to build my JK. And as I'm a newbie, it's not that easy due to all the opinions and lift/options that exist.

So yes, the TF 3" w/8arms that sits at 4" would probalby be the best way. With a TF monster adjustable front track bar as recommend me T&ERun. So I will be able to live with my stock DS until the front one break.

But what about RC and FT 4" lift kit. Are they sit at 4" once they installed, or more... They seems to be a very complete kit and the RC is kind of less expensive than others.

And AEV ProCal or Flashpaq??

full traction is one of the favorites. they have a few reps on the forum here and they help with a lot of questions and they listen to our feedback.

rc is also very popular and a rep on the forum.

Flashpaq has more hype. if you lost power and you want to regain some of it back, don't waste your money, regear.

Im torn myself between skyjacker tf or Rc because of the price. I was looking at the long arm kits. I want to get the best but mine is mostly a dd. I don't wanna spend that much and be dissatisfied. I have decided on the 4" cause if im gonna lift it...its gotta look lifted. Im obsessed and goin crazy over this. Guess that's also part of the" jeep thing" or just part of my madness.
