3.5" Suspension Lift Questions
Hey guys, I've owned a couple Jeeps in the past, never really lifted them or anything other than a couple in. body lift, etc. Recently bought a new 2011 JK 2dr. and I decided I want to run 35's on it. I'm looking to go with a Rubicon Express 3.5" lift -- RE7123 - JK 3.5" SUPER-FLEX KIT, 2 DOOR and my question is as follows:
Rubicon Express offers the 3.5" Super-Flex kit and claims to be able to run 35s. They also offer a 3.5" Standard kit (RE7122) that claims to only be able to run 33s. What is the difference? I mean, I understand the parts that are/aren't included in the two, but what makes the difference in being able to run larger tires? Isn't a 3.5" lift a 3.5" lift?
I suppose this is where my lack of suspension knowledge really comes out, so maybe someone out there can help me get a better understanding so I can make the right decision in lifting my Jeep.

In the write-up for them, the standard does indicate 33's. But just based on lift height, you'll be fine with 35's on it.
The difference is the recommendations for new driveshafts (due to the extra flex in the superflex, I guess?)...

Ha, ya, okay, I should have probably looked over that a little more again before posting... but at any rate...
What else would you guys recommend I add to the Jeep after installing the Super Flex kit? I'm thinking drive shafts for sure. Are there any other suspension components that I may need to think about?
It is a pretty complete kit. The only real upgrades are:
Rear Trackbar bracket - (upgrade to an adjustable)
Front Lower 'fixed' control arms - (upgrade to adjustables)
Rear Lower 'fixed' control arms - (upgrade to adjustables)
For that lift height, those adjustables are nice to have, but certainly not 'needed'.

Thanks!! that's the kind of information I'm looking for.
I have the 3.5 superflex RE and it is great, also has the adjustables for all the spots posted plus the front trackbar as well. I really love how it flexs on the trails and the street ride is pretty good too.
