Default 3.73 with 33" Tires

My 2" Skyjacker lift & Pro Comp wheels are on their way in. My question now is how will 3.73 gears be with 33" tires(32.5" true)? I know it is definately "do-able", but anyone with any personal experience? The tires probally won't be going on until next month, but trying to plan ahead. Also do I really need a front end alignment after putting the lift on? It says in the instructions yes, but recall some on hear saying it is not necessary with JKs & a small BB lift.

Thanks all.

The 08 Sahara's come with 32.1" AT tires from the factory and I have no problem with it at all. I also plan on going to 33's when the stockers wear off.

I am doing the same thing this week, and I researched it for two months waiting for the jeep to come in. I have had numerous sources say that 33's with 3.73 gears is a very good combination, with no noticable drop in "power" unless you put on 35's. If I can find it again, I'll post a link to a jeep site that showed a graph of power based on gears and tire sizes. The combo we are doing was just out of the "stock wheel" green zone into the low end of the yellow, and nowhere near the "red zone" that indicates significant power loss.
Enjoy!

If you also go with the Hypertech programmer, you will be able to readjust the speedo and also gain some power which will negate any negative effects of the 1" difference in size.

I have been running some Procomp 33's (32.5 true) ans haven't noticed any difference from stock. The tires that came from the factory were 32's (17'' wheel option) so there hasn't been any difference felt from my part.

so 33's are fine for 3.73.....do we need to worry bout drive shaft or anything else if we go with 33 x 12.50? Does it make a difference whether the rim is 15 16 or 17? I know full flex they rub but slight offroading will be ok right?

What about just doing a body lift instead of suspension, like a 1 inch lift? Is it even worth it. i was thinking bout the terrraflex buget boost but dont u need to then get longer break lines etc?

Tuesday I got 33's. Today it still drives (and looks!) great. no worries. Performance is still great, and I have NO RUB ISSUES. ZERO. (33" BFG's on Cragar 15's with 4" backspacing.) I have 3.73 and a 6 spd in my 2 door.

changing tire sizes does not affect driveshaft angle, so that is unrelated.

A BL is a fine idea, in small doses. It won't solve any tire rub issue though.

There is some info posted that Teraflex BB does not work properly on '08 JKs.
