Default 3.73 to 5.13

FINALLY pulled the trigger on 5.13. I have ran my 35 toyos with my 3.73, in my Auto for long enough.

I cant wait to feel the difference this will make. Its amazing how many people think your nuts for going with 5.13 instead of 4.88. You have to explain to them the huge difference in auto and manual.

considering adding an ARB air locker in the front.......but then I am getting into upgrading axle shafts.......I love it, it never ends!!!!!

Don't expect "instant hemi", it just brings you back to stock gearing. Or slightly better than stock, depending on the before/after ratios. Definitely a great, and needed, upgrade though.

Not expecting hemi LOL, just expecting to be able to drive down the hwy without being at 1700 rpm on flat ground, then OD kicking in and reving at 3000 rpm for most of the trip, shifting in and out constant. Cant wait. My tranny will be happy too

Prob wont be installing them for a bit. Bought the gears now, install in April.

I had to wait and do them separate. Local shops wanted $1700 for parts and Labour.

I got parts for $550. So to me that means shops wanted almost $1200 for labour.

But I found a very reputable Shop for $300/axle.

So thats $1150 as compared to $1700.......... big difference in my books

Got the 5.13's installed. I am loving them so far, what a big difference going up hills and maintaining speed. Sits at around 2200 rpm @100kmh, and 2700rpm@120kph.

I also got axle gussets, and trusses while it was in the shop.

Got bad news that my axle shafts are scored and gouged bad from all of the sand/mud inside the axle tubes.......so they need to be replaced soon.

$1,200 for labor doesn't sound too crazy. I paid $1,000 for labor. It does vary by locale. But, if the cheaper shop is someone who will stand behind their work, and you trust them, go for it

I run 37's and looking to re-gear to 513's not sure what gears I have now but they suck. What are some reputable gear brands and what website can I look at? I got a d30 and d44.
