In my situation I think those questions are irrelevant. New valves were put in 2 months ago and the problem is back already this motor has issues. The new valves solved the problem for about a month so I'm guessing she carboned up again which wouldn't be normal in that span of time even if it did nothing but idle. Perhaps bad rings causing excessive oil consumption and carbon build up.

No oil in inlet tube or varnishing in throttle body. Haven't pulled a plug yet as I am hoping after consumption test warranty will go good for new short block but I will check.

I ended up running some marvel mystery oil through a tank of gas and then running a tank of 93 octane gas and it cleared it up. I only make short trips and I idle often but I think its the gas for me. oh, I also changed my oil with 5/30 last time too but I'm not sure if that did anything. I will go to 10/30 next oil change though.

I think there is a good chance of it being the rings. I have a feeling that my motor is doing the same

Yeah from what I've read bad rings are relatively common in these motors. I hope your motors problems are not as severe as mine are you still under warranty?

Try going back to the stock tune and see what happens to the spark knock. What may be happening is that the 93 Tune has too much spark advance for the fuel you are using.

They can give you a modified tune, but honestly, it takes away all the benefit and performance. Try doing a carbon flush to the motor. Chrysler combustion chamber cleaner, follow the directions. It may take more than one treatment. Also, change the pcv valve if you haven't done so

Default Pinging and gas

Mine seems to clear up depending on the octane of gas and which brand I use...
