3/8 vs. 1/2 torque wrench w/ same specs?
Hey all, I've read the threads I found in the search function but this isn't covered. A local store has a 3/8 and 1/2 torque wrench on sale for $68 and $74. The 3/8 is shorter and looks easier to handle under the JK and the 1/2 is longer and thicker. Now I've read to go with the 1/2 as it handles more torque but... each package says that the wrenches are both good from 30-250 ftlb...
So my first inclination is to just go with the 1/2 but what do you think? I won't be using either for major jobs just checking torque after wheeling and changing/ rotating wheels.

Never heard of a 3/8" drive torque wrench that would go to 250 ft/lbs.
Are you sure it wasn't in/lbs on the 3/8" torque wrench?
If it did really say ft/lbs, it had to be a misprint.

Just curious because I've never seen a 3/8" drive that would go to 250 ft/lbs.
there is such a thing as to much torque. you can overtighten and do just as much damage as undertighting (mabye more). this is especially true with your lug nuts and the rotors warping. but hey it is your jeep so do what ever you want. thats just my view on the impact as your torque wrench.
