I've got 33s on my JK and think they are the perfect match for the X with 4.10 gears (at least with the six speed) and with a 2.5" BB. Sufficient power in all gears. Reasonable gas mileage. Not too hard on the axles. Spare fits on the stock rack, and I can still (barely) see through the rear window. Good ground clearance for off-road. It just seems like the JK was made for 33s and a 2.5 BB, but the Jeep hierarchy decided to go with 32s max.

I've run a few times off trail in some pretty rough areas, and the 33s did well (okay, I may have had a bit better luck on one particular shoal in a river we were crossing when my son (following my directions) got hung up on the undercarriage had I had 35s and maybe a 4" lift).

Anyway, I think 33s are a very nice compromise from spending a lot more money on the JK. And it leaves money to spend on other things. Like maybe a new rear bumper.

I've got the six speed, but I've heard that the 4.10's are just not enough for
35's on an auto. Wierd shift points and... You may be dissapionted w/ the power loss, maybe not .
Like I said I've got the six speed. IMO the 4.88's or 5.13's would be a better
match for 35's w/ an auto.

GET THE GEARS AND THE BIGGER TIRES !

I would say 35's even though I have 33's currently. My next set will be 35's. I still have a lot of tread on mine so it will be quite a while before the switch. 5.13 gears for the auto

37s... no seriously whatever you go with, you're going to want bigger... go 35s cuz the dana 44 with 4:10s is totally managable power wise with 35s... not a race car or anything, but 100% livable.

I just put on 33's with a skykacker 2" lift and wheel spacers. I have a 6 speed with 3.73 gears, this is the perfect set up for me of course until they wear out and I go with a 4" lift and 35...
