Default 33" or 35"Tire Problem

I have a question that I need help on. I have 33" Pro Comp AT with about 1500miles on them. These came with my 07 X 4dr Jeep. I want 35" BF MT KM's. Should I pull the trigger or wait for these tires to wear out. The 33's look alittle small on my 4 door. Didn't really notice this when I bought it. I have enough lift for the 35's and I have 4.10 gears.

Well, keep in mind that if you decide to go to 35s, beside the tires you will need either new wheels with the proper backspacing or wheel spacers (not my cup of tea). And once you are running 35s, you will not like the drop in performance and will mostly like want to change gears to 5.13s. So add up tires, wheels (or spacers), gears and shop costs for the gear install. Then decide what you want and are willing to pay. (I'm assuming you already have a lift so the 35s will fit.)

I ran 35s with 4.10s and a 5spd on my TJ. Not horrible, but not 33s on 4.10s. But wouldn't do it with an auto.
I'd run the 33s until they were gone, to be sure what you really want to do with the jeep. Wheel it, see what it can/can't do. Then decide. Too many times I've seen people go big right away and regret it, just for the sake of going big. I ended up on 35s, and then didn't do anything more difficult than Class VI roads. Kind of a waste, and ruined the fun of challenge/banging/etc.

I agree with the posts above, but I am of the opinion that if you are thinking about doing it, go for it!!!

You can always get some of your money out of your 33's by selling them.

stratra, I feel your pain. I have the stock 32's now but cant decide on 33's or 35's. I have the rims waiting, I just can't pull the trigger on either. I have a 2 door though so 33's might not be so bad. I really prefer 35's they seem to fit the wheel wells better. I will only have the 2 inch OME lift so 35's may rub for me. Anyway, good luck!
