Default 33" Road Tyres

If I understand it correctly are the standard tyres (255/70R18) on my Sahara 32" tyres.
Now I would like to put some larger tyres (33"?) on my Jeep, but since I only use it on normal roads I was wondering which type you guys recommend.
Will I need to have spacers and a lift when using the standard 18" Sahara rims?

I can't help you too much with your spacer issue, but a good solid on and off road tire would be the Nitto Terra Grappler. Has an aggresive look and great road manners. They run about $175 each and just about everyone carries them.

When I had 33s I had Nitto Terra Grapplers. They were great (I'd have gotten them again, but they don't make them in the size I'm running now). They handle really well on the road, dry, wet, icy, etc. And to top it off, they're an all terrain tire, which keeps it looking like a Jeep. They also are not noisy at all, so I think if you're looking for a great tire, that will serve your needs, and still look great on your Jeep, that's the one to go with.

The spacers will allow you to use a wider tire. They will also kick out your tires so they are more flush with the wheel wells - giving the jeep a wider stance. If you go with the 1.5" spacer, you will have 1.5" more room inside. You could go to a 285/65/18 tire then. Lots of guys/gals here have this set up. The 285 tire is about 1.25" wider then the stock 255/70/18. I have no idea whether or not you need the spacers for the 285 tire, but you won't need a lift - the 285 is about a 1/2" taller than the 255.

I was going to go with the 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers until I found my current set up in the for sale section.

It seems indeed to be 1/2" taller. Would that be enough to see it?
I mean to notice the difference?

Well a 1/2" taller means 1/4" more sidewall all the way around. Doubt that you will notice it in the sidewall, but it just may be what you are looking for too. You will notice the - what was it 1 1/4"? - wider tire though. I really like the look of the Nitto sidewall and think that 1/4" sidewall and wider tire would have done me fine. I wasn't looking to lift mine right yet.

actually I would prefer not to lift mine neither.
But I wouls like to put the largest tire so that the jeep increases a bit in size/height.
For what is concerned the width of the tire... I like it when they are aligned with the outside of the fenders without sticking out....

I ran the stock 18s with the 1.5" Spidertrax spacers for well over a year - I got what I have now in May. The spacers alone bring the wheels out so they are flush with the fenders. Like I said, I really like the look of the Nitto T/G so I was going to get the 285/65/18, basically just to get a wider tire.

Click on my photos, there is a photo in there of my JK with the spacers.

I like my 33" nitto tera grapplers pretty well but I really wish I would have gone 35" M/Ts. They are a nice tire though.

It seems that in order to avoid rubbing the tallest&widest tyre to go for wihout a lift or spacers would be 275/70R18 ( 843x275, 33.2x10.8 ).

Here the brands of road tyres I found so far, any experience with those, keeping in mind that I spend 99% of my time on the road:

- BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A tire P275/70R18

- Continental ContiTrac tire LT275/70R18

- Continental ContiTrac TR tire LT275/70R18

- Michelin LTX A/T 2 tire

- Nitto Terra Grappler tire

- Nitto Dura Grappler tire
