Default 33inch Tire Pressure

Hey guys I have a quick question. I'm running Falken Rocky Mountain ats 285/70/17s on stock rims and have the psi set around 33. I notice that the front tires on the outside shoulder where its squared off seems to be wearing and back tires are fine. Is that caused from the front tires obviously being the steering tires? Sorry if I worded that wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will try it again. When I did the chalk test the first time it showed all tread touching at 33. I'm almost tempted to just raise the psi to 35.

I run my 285/70/17 on 17x9 aftermarket wheels at 27-28 psi. 11k mile on them and wear seems to be even (rotated every 4k miles)

I run 33psi on my 285/70R17 Duratracs with 17x8 rims and have nice even wear on my tires.

If you are getting wear on the OUTER edges of the tires, then something is amiss. Might want to check on the camber of the suspension (if that is even possible on the JK). Also, rotate your tires - it will help tons!

My old WRX had some good camber on the rear tires and rotations were normal and no abnormal wear was detected.

x2 on the rotation

When you say "outer edges" do you just mean both edges of each tire (underinflated) or just the outboard edges (camber).

I run 305/70/r16 and I like my psi to be 30 on the road.

I have 285/65/18 Falken AT's and Discount Tire swears that 35lbs is proper pressure. I had a 15 minute conversation with them about the fact that max pressure is 65lbs, an they only inflated them to 35.
He explained to me that 40-65lbs on our light Jeep would be like having rocks for tires, and that these tires are designed for 3/4 ton trucks. So, I keep mine at 35...no issues so far.

Lowered mine to 30psi and the ride feels great.

Great. I know that my Duratracs loved to make my Jeep bounce all over the highway at 36PSI. 33 psi is perfect for me.
