Default 33's on 15's?

this may be a really dumb question but can i put 15's on my 08 JK 4dr? it seems like every website won't let me do it after i select my veh. i'm getting a 2.5" TF coil lift and will be getting wheels and tires. i have heard i need wheels with 4.5 backspacing to run without rubbing. is this true?

thanks for the help!

Sometime 15's fit, sometimes they don't. Search the forum there's lots of threads on it.

I'm running 15x8 Cragar Soft 8s. The only issue with some 15" rims is that the "holes" in the rims rub on the front calipers in some cases. The rubbing is minor and varies on a jeep to jeep or wheel to wheel basis.

From what I have read I that most people will grind their calipers slightly to eliminate the rubbing. Myself, there was no way I was going to grind anything off my calipers in my 2 year old jeep so I opted for some .25" spacers from Summit. Now I have no issues with rubbing an have been running these wheels almost a year now.

Hope that helps.

Go for a 3.75" backspace. You need to get the wheel out far enough to clear the calipers. A 4 BS will be hit and miss. Some clear and some don't.

The 4.5 BS you are seeing is not for 15's. That is for the 'stock' wheel sizes, and has more to do with fitting bigger tires than for caliper clearance.
