Default 33s or 35s

my 2011 wrangler unlimited had a 3" spacer lift with 295/70/17 trail grapplers 33.5" tall.

on my 2014, the shop is recommending a 2.5" teraflex and 35's. I dont want the tires to look too big and gawdy, nor have rubbing issues.

Should I just use my old setup with the 295/70s?

Or should I go larger than 2.5"?? Id like a 3.5" but I dont want to have to change driveshafts or have any issues.

Whats needed for a 3.5" lift?

Go with a 2.5" Lift and 35's. This is what I just did on my 13's. I did a ton of tire research and picked one of the lightest MT's and it is super quiet. So quiet that they sound like AT tires. Yokohama Geolander M/T. They are much more quiet then the KM2's on my father in laws Rubi in the same size. The shop couldnt stop raving about how quiet they are and how the car has no issues pushing them even with the stock auto gear.

As far as them being too big and gawdy, Ill attach a pic and you can decide for yourself, but I think it looks perfect.

My '06 had a 3" lift with 33's; my 2013 has 3.5" lift with 35's. The '13 is quieter and handles better and has better articulation. The newer wranglers appear to have more clearance stock, allowing them to handle 35" even with a budget lift.

A 2.5 budget boost is a great set up for 35's

IMO, 33s are fine with stock fenders and 2.5, especially 295s. If you are thinking about the flats, I'd go with 35s.

I didn't follow my own advice and now I have the flats with 33s and want 35s.

Anybody interested in some Cooper STTs (295/70/17) with 60% tread?! ha

JKU needs 35s (minimum), 2 inch suspension lift, flat fenders.

Will the teraflex bb 2.5 lift get me where I want to be? The spacer budget lift?

What kind of lift is on the red jku pictured up top?
