It depends on the wheel back spacing and the width of the tires. You'll have to worry about rubbing under articulation if the tires stick out too far.

My setup rubbed before the BB.

I run 33 12.5 with stock 16 rims. I had to get wheel 1.5 wheel spacers due to tire width. I have zero problems. The height is fine, but depending on the width of the tire you may need spacers or rims with correct back spacing.

I put the 33" x 12.5 width BFG AT on my X just days after I got it off the lot. I had some rubbing, as expected, on extreme full turn of the steering wheel. I put on a 2" lift a short time later and had no problems. I would have put on a Spidertrax spacer if I was going to wait any longer....so look at spacers.

with stock rims and 285/70r17s (33x11.50) the only rubbing i had was on the swaybar at full lock. i got rims w/4.5" backspacing & had no problems since. ride height is not an issue. i still had about 2" under full flex between the tire and the fenders.

If you go with 33's and disconnect the swaybars, the tires will contact the fenders pretty hard. If you stay connected, you may have rubbing problems depending on what tire width you have.
