35/12.5/17 vs 315/70/17

I've been curious as to the advantage of one vs the other aside from the E - D load rating. I get that the E has thicker side walls than the D but the negative to that is weight. The height of the 35 is .23" talled, but the 315 has .06 more width. Seems like all I see are 35's and almost no one running 315's. Is this an 'ego' thing about the 35" stamped on the sidewall or is this dude missing something?:dontknow2:

Some tires only come in one or the other. I would consider them the same and get the tire you want. If it an ego thing, people have some serious issues.
