35", 3.73 gear on automatic anyone?

My factory 4:10's with 35's were ok on a flat surface. The slightest rise in the road and the tranny would jump out of overdrive to 3rd. After alot of reading on the forums and a recommendation from Superior Gears I went with the 5:13's. The tranny holds in OD and performance is very good. At 60 mph I am taching about 2100 rpm, with the speedometer corrected for the tire and gear sizes.
Some people say they just always turn the overdrive off with the larger tires.

I have 32s with 3.73 and drove a similar Jeep with 35s and 3.73s in town and on the freeway. There was a noticeable sluggishness with the 35s but it was not as bad as I was expecting. You could live with 35s and 3.73 for a while if you had too. Not great but livable short term.
I am gonna go against the grain. I drive over 2500mi a month. mostly highway but alot of around town also. I have 35x12.50R15 with 3 inches of lft.
On average I get 260 to 280 miles per tank of gas. with a AVG of 15 to 17mpg. 17mpg is on the high end. I do run mud terrains.
On highway with a variety of terrain its driveable in OD. But if it slips into OD, just dont expect to pass anyone at the drop of a hat. On the freeway for the most part I leave OD off.
In the city, its no different then stock in my opinion. I still accelerate the same and can still hold a cruising speed. Most speed limits around here are 35mph.
I have corrected my speedo with the Pro Comp Accu Pro (made a world of difference).
Now will I regear, yes! But I am not regearing for power, but instead mileage. I am still doing research, but its looking like 4.88's might be best for mileage, but 5.13's are still in the running.
Here is some RPM readings I have taken:
On freeway:
60mph I was turning 1400rpm (basically a fast idle) I got around 12 to 13mpg
65mph I was turning around 1500ish.
70mph I was turning 1700ish
Now here is the funny thing.
75+mph I was turning 1900 to 2k. With this setup and 89 octane gas, I nailed 18 to 19mpg.
In the city I turn about 1600 to 1700rpm.
I hope this information helps you.
