Default 35" steering wheel shake

I just put 35s on my jkr about two months ago and i get a little shake in my steering wheel at around 55mph. It is a rubicon so it has the Dana 44. Went to 4 wheels parts and they suggested a dual stabilizer so I threw that one and it's better but not fixed. I even got them rebalanced. Any help? Suggestions??

Exactly. Sounds like you have the beginning of what can turn into death wobble. The tires did not cause the wobble if you had them mounted and balanced correctly. Check out the death wobble threads on here. Tons of good information on how to diagnose and find the issue. To start, I would check ball joints and then move to suspension components. There are a million causes of death wobble..... I have a slight shimmy in my steering but it's from the steering box, which has been leaking for a couple years. That can also be a cause.

I assume the 35's are on other wheels correct? Do you still have the original wheels? If you do try to put the original wheels and tires on the rig and see if that fixes it.

Yes 4 inch lift short arm. And they are on 17in wheels. I got then rebalanced at a local shop and they said they were way off. I've done everything at the second shop so I trust their word over 4 wheel parts (not knocking them just kinda feel like they made a sale)

What brand lift?

Does the lift have a drop pitman arm? Does it have a drag link flip?

As others have mentioned you will want to check all of the steering joints and ball joints for play.

Pro comp with front and rear shock and coils bump stops and sway bar links. Very simple lift I didn't want to add too much since I still have factory warranty on my jeep. I'm seriously considering a long arm lift and maybe getting it soon depending on the wheel shake problem. Thank you for the input and I will definitely check joints tonight.

If you would like you can send us an e-mail with a picture of your drag link and track bar relations. At that 4" lift height we would assume that a drag link flip or drop pitman arm would be needed. The drop pitman arm is not our recommendation as it puts extra leverage and stress on the steering box. We can set you up with the Synergy drag link flip kit if needed.

Our e-mail is sales@smashboogie4x4.com

We can also set you up with a long arm kit if that is the direction you want to go, however the long arm kit most likely will not correct your vibration issue.
