Default 35" Tire Help - A/T or M/T

Just got my AEV 2.5" DualSport XT lift installed today on my 2012 JK Sahara Unlimited and am eager to get 35"x12.5" tires. I've ordered the 17" AEV Pintler wheels already and am now deciding on tires. This vehicle is my daily driver. I anticipate about a 80% on-road, 20% off-road split. My drive to work is only 7 miles and max speed I get up to is about 60 mph. However, I do get on the highway quite a bit in the Summer especially to drive up to the lake on the weekends to my boat. The interstate speed limit is 70 mph so I usually set the cruise control to about 75 mph. My initial thought was to go with the Toyo Open Country A/T II...looks like the perfect blend of on-road tire (quiet, great in snow, wet, and dry) with an aggressive look and off-road capable for up to moderate trails. The problem is every where I look, these tires in 35"x12.5" size are on back-order for the next 30-90 days. Not sure I can wait that long. I really would love to hear some opinions on the Toyo Open Country M/T as well as the Nitto Trail Grappler in 35"x12.5" and how they do in wet conditions, snow conditions, and how much noise increase I can expect at 75 mph...or if I should just wait for the Toyo Open Country A/T II to get back in stock.

You can't go wrong with the Toyo mt's, or Nitto trail grapplers. I run 35 x 12.50 Trail grapplers and they are excellent on and off road. They are quiet and ride smooth, don't take much weight to balance, and are incredible off road. They are good in the rain and snow too. You won't be disappointed with either

Love my toyo m/ts. Kick a$$ off road, wear like iron, and are the quietest MT I've used.

The Nitto Tera Grapplers aren't bad either. I've got a buddy that runs them on his truck. It's a good all around tire.

The only problem with the Terra Grapplers is they don't make them in 35"x12.5" 17" size. I feel like getting those in 285/75/17 would be selling myself short.

They come in a 305/70/17 also. It puts that tire right at 34" tall.

I'm really leaning this direction and it looks like we are doing the same stuff with the same climate. I've seen these tires mounted on someone's wrangler locally and it kinda caught my eye when walking past. Not super aggressive,, and this guy who has them wheels offroad often enough to say they are a good choice.

The duratracs are in a 1-2 battle with these for me because of their lightweight .

It really depends on the tire. My 35" BFGs are measuring around 33.8"

The use you describe calls for AT, not MT.
MTs are made for some offroading, not for all types of terrain, while ATs would be better 'all rounders', all year long and in a larger variety of trails. They also usually wear slower.

ATs will give quieter ride, more mpg, and even better grip on some kinds of terrain.
I wouldn't compromise.

I use the Mickey Thompson 35” (315/70/17) MTZ, and like them both on and off road.
The BFGoodrich are very good too, but more expensive.

How many miles do you have on your Trail Grapplers? Talking to a buddy of mine who's a former TJ owner he was highly recommending going with a M/T tire and more so, the Trail Grapplers.
