Default 35" Tire Opinions

Ok I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on this but all I've found is the "Show your 35's thread" and I can't find enough info in there. I just got the RK 2.5" Max Travel Kit and am upgrading from 285/70-17 Duratracs to a 315 or 35". This is my DD and only 5% off-road use. I really like the Duratracs but I'm considering going to the MTR or KM2. Any suggestions or concerns I should know about since this is my DD. Should I stick with the AT Duratrac for the ride or are these 2 MT options pretty equivalent on the road as well. I know the Duratracs do well off-road for what I typically do. So with that being said my biggest concern is road performance/wear/noise. Any help is greatly appreciated. I don't want to go to a 35" that's going to have me regretting it. I want to upgrade and still be able to enjoy my drive around town and to work (44 miles one way on Interstate). Thanks again guys!!

Well I have run these In the 35 ish size
35x12.5 bfg km2 they run small but are light and not too noisy
315-70 kumho mt's louder and heavier than km2's, harder to balance than bfg
35x12.5 Nitto trail grappler heaviest by far easiest to balance as well as tallest, not loud on the hwy no vibs while driving but sidewall is stiff and you will need to run them around 26-29psi

I like the Nitto the best but I'm also going to regear to 4.56 on my 12 auto from 3.21's as I lost the most mpgs (avg 15 now) and power with these

I can say that going from 295/70/17 up to 315's was an awesome move for me. Noticed minimal if any loss in mpg's, still as tall as most 35's, just narrower. 34.6" x 11.5". Great size for both on and off road. I went with Hankook Dynapro MT's for their positive magazine reviews and awards, and they have a good wear life of 50K plus. Running a Superchip, manual trans w/ 3.73's. Very content

I have the Trail Grapplers and yes their stiff. I run 22 psi and that seems to smooth them out a bit. And yes that was with a chalk test on a 8.5 wide wheel.

The more I read about the mtr's the less I want them for a dd tire. Im definitely leaning towards the duratracs or km2's right now. I've read several articles saying the km2 rides very close to an AT tire on road and performs outstanding off the road.

The hankook seems to be worth more research. A friend had the nittos and I wasn't a big fan of them.

Just an FYI, the 35" KM2 is actually 34". Mine are worn down to almost 33.5 now.

I hear Duratracs are good ATs and I run the Fierce Attitude which is a MT tread on a Duratrac hull.
