Default 35" Tire Shopping ... HELP!!!

I am looking at putting 35's on my 17" wheels. America's Tire gave me a price of $2K for 5- BFG Mud T/A KM2's. I thought it was kinda high. I don't really care about the brand ... I just want a good aggressive tire that will last and does not make too much noise on the road.

I am in OC and want 35x12.5x17's.

Any suggestions on brand, price, and the best place to purchase???

Thanks everyone!
Don

If you want low noise you must rotate them often, and you 'do care' about the brand. My KM2s are very quiet for what they are, Kevlars have a good reputation as well. I paid under $1300 for five 35x12.5x17 KM2s, mounted & balanced with road hazard warranty from 4wheel parts when they had some BFG deal going...

Make two or even three stores fight for your business. They will all try to beat each others prices. Call around and ask them if they will beat the others stores price . Get there best price and then call another store and keep doing it till you get the best price. They all pay the same for tires but some stores need to make more of a profit (ie the mom and pop shops). It may take a few calls but it's well worth it. I do it every time I buy anything pricey. $2k also seems a bit high.

Good luck

there are alot of people running the KM2's they are good tires the high price you are seeing is due to 17" sizing. I was quoted 265 per tire for 35x12.50x16 from thier sister store. if you look at 15's they are about $100 cheaper per tire

Shop online then have your local discount tire price match them. (Can't beat the national warranty, free balance/rotate/etc, without the hassle of shipping back and forth if you have an issue)

Or if they won't match for some reason -
Check onlinetires.com, decent prices and they are in ceritos. Should be close enough...

Check out the Cooper STT's, good price, great wearing & quiet for a mud-terrain on the pavement. I know my STT's passed the Wifey test.

I like the Nitto Trail Grapplers.....Aggressive and fairly quiet on the street.....I have the 295X75R18 tires which equate to a tire size of 34.54 inches Dia. got mine for around 275 per tire but that was with balance and install on Jeep.
