Default 35" tires and 4" lift

Hi everyone! I'm from Croatia/Europe and I got my JK a year ago. I didn't even know my JK could be modified untill I saw this forum and now I'm totally into doing something to my car. I'm new to all of this, so I'm asking for your help and a little advice. I'm thinking about installing a 4" lift and some 35" tires on 16" wheels. What do you think about that? Pros, cons?? Which lift should i use? And what tires would be the best for 40% off road and 60% on road? I'm also thinking about changing my front and rear bumpers, but I want to do the lift and tires first. (lack of money)
Thanks in advance
Rudi

Rudy,

Welcome to the Forum!

You should start by reading the FAQ in this section of the forum. It contains a lot of excellent information regarding the modifications that will be required at some point after you add the 4" lift.

This may/may not change the amount of lift that you want.

Regarding tires, first do a SEARCH for the most popular tires like Toyo MT, Goodyear MTR Kevlar, BFG KM2, Cooper STT and Mickey Thomson MTZ. Many of these discussions will provide owner's experiences with these popular brands and others.

Once you decide on what you like and don't like you will be able to ask more specific questions.

This process will lead to you selecting the components that best fit your needs and budget.

You can even do a 3 inch lift and fit 35s with no problems, welcome to the forum.

Yes, that's what I want. My JK is a 2dr black Sahara... I was wondering, isn't there a bit too much space between your tire and the rest of the car for a 4"? I saw some other pics of JK's that have tha same setup, but it looks a bit different... What's the catch??

I personally like the added clearance. I think it looks great with the stock fenders. And it doesn't rub at all. Some people don't like the look I guess, but to me it's perfect. And it really looks better in person than in pics.

No, don't get me wrong, I also think it looks great. Can you tell me did you have to do anything else besides changing the parts around suspension? I read somewhere on this forum that when adding a lift higher than 2.5" you have to modify many other things, and that it's complicated and expensive..
