So my question is can you fit 15s on a jk? I know it depends on the rim? I am really interested in the DC1 15s, and i plan on using an adapter to change the bolt pattern for the 15s. The reason for the 15s is the width. I like the wide tires on the JK, and the 15" DC1s come 10 inches wide. adapter acts as a spacer as well. What do you guys think of the backspacing total.

Spidertrax 5x5 to 5x4.5 Bolt Pattern - 1.375 in Wheel Adapter Kit - Jeep JK Wrangler
not enough backspacing or too much?? if there is such thing as too much?

Im thinking this wheel will be a better idea with the adapter. it will leave me with 3.145 of spacing. I'll check out the old topics to see if I find answers on the wheel spacing required.

I think the caliper rubbing is due to the shape of the wheel mounting flange at the back of the wheel. some wheels have a flat mounting surface that is larger diameter than the JK's rotor mounting surface, some are roughly the same diameter. If too much larger, the front caliper can get in the way with the extended flange surface. There also seems to be an occasional issue with the rest of the center flange ('spoke' area of the wheel); if this is too flat relative to the the rear flange enough there could be a clearance issue. Most clearance issues seem to be pretty minor, solved by a small amount of grinding at the most. I did a lot of research before going with 15" wheels. My Pro-Comp 15x10s went on without an issue. I do watch my fingers when hoisting a tire up onto the lugs though. There's not a lot of room to spare.
I'm wondering if backspacing is a real # that will tell if a certain rim fits a JK? Reading all the posts it seem some 3.75 bs fit some do not. looking at this cutaway from Quadratec I think the backspacing has something to do with caliper rub. As the back spacing changes in certain rims mostly steel it would seem the space above the C/B measurements is where the caliper is so that space open and closes with said measurements. With a cast or formed rim you may not see that space change as with a pressed steel rim. I see back spacing having more of a rub factor on suspension when the tire hits. Just some thoughts.

Just got the 15x8 Cragar V-5s today. I wonder if they will rub..They have 5 larger holes. No 44 up front.
Would be nice if there was a chart on here that everyone could fill out on what fits for wheels. List year, axle, rim specs.
Or the combination measurement out from stud and down to caliper........
Just measured I have 1- 11/16" out from center on the stud and a 1/4 "down to this rolled lip.
So again backspacing may not have a lot to do with it at leat on steel rims. More like what factory or what machine and how worn out a die might be in the press??

15x8 Eagle Alloys. Absolutely no rubbing issues. I actually have a lot of room around the calipers. I ordered Pacer Streetlocks first, and they wouldn't clear. So, Sam's Offroad in Tulsa, OK hooked me up with these. I'm running 35x12.50 Cooper STT's.
