Default 35's or 33's

Have a stock 2010 sahara 6 speed. My plans are to go on trails or expeditions, no rock climbing for this guy. But my question is can I run 35's with a d44 back and d30 front or should I be looking at 33's? I look at the long haul side of things, so if I need to fix things before 35's let me know. Aka I'm trying to mitigate or use ORM before going out and doing something stupid. Thanks ahead of time.

I ran both and there are pros and cons.
First of all I have a budget boost installed which maintained stock handling characteristics through the use of stock extensions. This, along with a fender trim, gives me enough room for 35's. If they're going on stock wheels you'll also need wheel spacers. I saw a dip in mpg and more road noise.
The 33's you could mount up without any of that. They were more daily driver friendly IMO.
That being said, I wouldn't go back to 33's. The look and added width/clearance of the 35's make up for it.

Either will work fine for expedition type travel. I've run both. A friend now runs 33s and I run 35s. Those 33s made it up Blanca Peak--considered by some the toughest 4WD road in the state of Colorado. Here is a video of that. He is in the very dark green (really looks black) four door ...

Skip to 3:15 for Blanca Peak ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFjr3hSzEu4 Make your decision based on gas mileage (35s will cost you about 2 MPG over 33s), aesthetics (I've stuck with 35s because I like the looks) and finances (I'd recommend the same basic mods and beefing up that front axle for either size. The only real difference is the cost of tires and maybe regearing).

33s on left, 35s on right ...
