35's on a 4x2..?
hi guys, im new to the board. I just purchased an 07' Sahara 4dr..its a 4x2(couldnt pass up on the deal)..as you can tell by my name im new to the Jeep world(Previous Mustang Gt Owner) and i really dont know anything about these things..Ive been looking at the BB lift kits will this be enough to clear 35's or should i go with 33's?? also do any companies make ECU programmers for jeeps to calibrate speedo's, fuel timing etc?? thanks in advance
Welcome and congrats on the new Jeep! 35" tires do nicely with whats called a 2" or 2.5" budget boost, which are basically spacers that give you a suspension lift, all the while keeping your stock ride. The kits are made by several companies, Rubicon Express, Teraflex, Full Traction, etc...
There is a programmer out that you can use to program your speedometer, made by Hypertech, call the Accu Pro. It doesn't do fuel management stuff though. There will probably be more programmers that do more in the future.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I will do my best to answer them for you.
BTW this is a great site with tons of info, but be prepared to take a little heat because some say real Jeeps are 4WD. Don't worry about it do what you want!!!

For wheels keep in mind that the JK's are fairly new still so not all the wheels are available quite yet. There is a nice selection and there will be more and more available as time goes by. Depending on what type of wheels you want or the look you are after, I would suggest you look at Pro Comp wheels. A lot of time they have a buy three get one free deal, same with their tires. It can cut the initial cost down a bit since you will be doing lift, wheels, tires, etc....
For the lift I would definitely go with Northridge 4X4.

I run the RE 2in bb and a m.o.r.e 1in bodylift, it seems just as capable as a 3in suspension lift. Much to my surprise, the 4-door is very capable in 2wd, I have 35in cooper stt's and the thing is hard to get stuck in the mud in 2wd. Rockcrawling, different thing all together, don't know much about that, I'm in south Louisiana
I do like stump crawlin though.

So it really depends on what you're gonna do... hell, you could put 35's under a stock suspension and you can run all day every day (on the road).
I have a 4 door Shahara with 2.5 TeraFlex, and 35" MT MT's. They clear just fine, when I reverse and turn the wheel sharp they rub on the air dam. I just put on a 1" M.O.R.E Body Lift and it looks great!
