2500rpms is where the torque starts to flatten out, so you reach a point of diminishing returns and efficiency when your highway cruise rpms exceed this.
Hmm..I didn't think about that....thats a very interesting point....I wonder what kinda hit it would be....especially if you were going for a pass and OD kicked down, how high would the RPM's climb with that downshift?
When the OD kicks off in an auto with 5.13's, it's nearly identical to 4th gear in a 6 speed with 4.10's.
