Default 35's and Flashpaq

I have been doind my research, but I cannot find a good answer.

Is OD useable in an auto Rubi Unlimited with 4.10 gears and 35's if I purchase a Superchip?

I have 35" MTR's and used a Procal and I have had good results. I rarely experience "gear searching" or odd shifts and overdrive is still very usable.

I have a 2dr rubi with 4.10's

It's tolerable but frustrating.

4dr, auto, 35s, 4.10s, superchis on 87 tune.

around town or flat highway it's fine. get into any hills then you lose power and downshift.

We've down some 1000mile road trips with this set up and it works. It just get's annoying when you get into the small hills. Obviously when you're climbing the mountain up to Tahoe OD is worthless and you might even drop into second.

you don't need to regear the second you put on your 35's. Drive it for a while and you'll see how much you dislike it and you can prioritize your regear accordingly.

Great advice right there

Sorry for high jacking your thread.....
I was going to ask a similar question....but with 35's, 3:73 gears and 6spd and superchips. How are people finding it????

I ran on 35s and 4.10s for about 4 months and it was marginally OK, but did constantly shift out of OD on the slightest incline. I have been running the Superchips 93 tune for about six months now and have no plans to re-gear. I regularly run 80 mph on interstates with mimimunal downshifts.

While I'm sure gearing would help, nothing's going to make a "huge" difference without serious engine work\replacement. I personally don't feel it would be worth the money for the gain involved. (It would also cancel the differential portion of my drivetrain warranty)

It depends on how fast you drive, the type of terrain and your expectations.
I'm running an auto with 5.13s, a Flashpaq programmer and 35s which is a close to ideal combination for me.

I can sustain 75-80 MPH on a level highway and 65 MPH on all but the steepest hills without shifting in and out of OD.

There is no way I could do this with 4.10s.

I have an 07 auto 4:10's with flashpaq.

My last trip from Kennesaw, GA to Coal Creek (near Knoxville, TN) with the economy saver option on 35's super swampers comping for actual tire size of 34.25" I got an average of 21 MPG on the hwy doing 65 mph and riding approximately 100 feet behind a semi for 80% of the drive. My RPMS stayed at 2000 except on rare occasions when it downshifted for a steep grade. I always had the overdrive on

The very first thing I do after starting my JK is to turn off the O/D... IMHO it is all but completely useless. I've been running my Rubicon Unlimited (Auto, 4.10's, & 35's) this way for quite some time now. It gets me around just fine. I've had 5.38's sitting in my garage for quite some time now... just waiting for more funds for the install.

Yes. I've got an 08 Rubicon unlimited with 35's and 4.10's and I don't have any issues with normal driving using superchips even when not in performance mode and usive save mode.
