Default 35s safe on the highway at 23 psi?

I put on 35s recently. I've been moving the pressure down over time to get the full tread width into the contact patch. I ended up at about 24 psi for the front and 23 for the rear. Is it safe to run pressure this low at highway speeds?

i would guess for short commutes would be ok. long trips would definately up it to above 30psi. the chalk test is the best way to find your ideal rating but for a long highway trip you would also gain MPG with higher PSIs. basicaly, depends on the situation.

I run 35's on my JK and run 30psi in them when traveling the highways. But for short travels you'll probably be OK at the lower psi

don't forget that tires heat up at higher speeds and increased temp increases psi some. I have ran 35s at 25psi 80 mph for couple hour drives with no issue.

That sounds a bit low to me. I run my e rated 35's at 28. I personally wouldn't go below 25, but im getting a good contact patch where I am now

I run mine at 18 psi no heat... But wouldn't suggest on a long trip and 30 psi would wear the centers out

30 psi on MOST d rated tires will contact the full tread width. 30 psi will not wear the centers

18 PSI on the road is too low for almost any tire. Creates a lot of heat and resistance, reduces stability at speed and will wear tire prematurely. How long have you been doing this?
