I have 2010 auto with 3.73 gears, 35 atms and I can live with it. That said it's slow and you will probably lose a couple mpgs.

From what I read by using the search function a zillion times....it will be kind of shitty with the 3.8. However, the Pentistar you'd be okay.

i just put 35 duratracs on my 2011 auto JKU with 3.73s. i went from 33 dura's to 35 duras and yes, my next mod is gears. i noticed a performance lose right away, but i could also use the AEV Procal to tune my speedo and tranny. I've heard it helps with shifting and drivability. as for restoring your power, gears are the way to go. i was quoted just under 700 bucks for 4.88s with master kits. i think 4.88s should be a decent gear set with 35s and a dana 30 up front. I'm sure someone with experience and knowledge can chime in

I have a 2009 auto with 3:73's. It is not bad for me. It is my daily driver and I have no complaints with it. I would suggest waiting on the regear until after you add the bigger tires.

i have contacted a few people on this same thing... one of them said 4.88s but the other three said 5.13s. i too have a 3.8 with the auto and i am running 35's with 3.73s, i get about 14 mpg. i just got my gears in the mail the other day from northridge4x4.com and now i just need to tackle the install myself or find some one to do it. also got the dev procal and the RI dullys for the fog lights, can't wait to get it all done. good luck with your build.

2010MY A/T trans, 3.73 , 35"tire GY Kevlar (MB72 15" alloy rim) + 2.5" TF lift(spring/shock) - very smooth drive feeling, mild sailing all around deceleration. Lagging power on uphill grade around 15% grade... No complain yet. Seems no issue with trans lock up, lost 2 mpg for F/E seems to be shift pattern mismatch. If I change both bumper, will start lagging more and that's the time I need to think of engine output improvement and Differential change(Lock) : )

I went that way !!!!

For six months 35¨ and stock sahara 18¨ with Dana 30 3.73 Auto, then a Tunner that would be used for tire size, speedo, TPMS, and MPG savings, helped for another months and it was latter used also for gears calibration.

Finally got 4.88s, sleeves and gussets and I'm very happy, it is a balanced combo for on road hills, flat zones and off road crawling. It keeps strength of the components. at the beginning i wanted to go 5.13 and Chromolly shafts but the pinion for the D30 is super small and I saw it as I was purchasing a weaker point !

Right now my weak point are the front U joints, and I prefer to change those off road than the pinion. Somewhere in the future will replace them for a stronger aftermarket brand, but not going to RVC or chromo

If you plan to go for something bigger like 37¨ stop this isn the way. if you plan to stay with 35, go for them and start modding as you need/can afford.
