Default 35's on stock wheels?

Hey everybody,
First time post here... thanks in advance for your patience... I feel like this question has to have been answered 1000 times but a simple search didn't give any results...

I have a 2010 JKU sport, currently pretty stock and I would love to join the Teraflex 2.5 BB + 35's club! My question regards around the stock wheels (which I really like so I would like to keep if possible!) Can I fit a 35x12.5.17 tire on a 17x7.5 wheel? Seems like it would balloon the tire a bit reducing tread life as well as ride quality? (if it's even possible) I've seen numerous pictures of people in the "35 show and tell" with stock rims. Not sure how...

Any advice or tips...

It's my dailty driver, not doing any crazy wheeling, the occasional trail with my buddies who have stock rigs...

Thanks.

J

Yes that tire size will fit your stock wheels fine. You'll most likely need a set of 1.5" spacers for proper back spacing to avoid rubbing at full turn. I ran 35x12.50 on my 18x7.5 wheels with zero problems.

I'm running 35" Toyo's on stock rims, 2.5 lift, and 1.75" spacers. I really don't notice any balooning. In the pic below I have them at about 16psi.Click image for larger version

Yes it will be fine. You will need 1.5" spacers as the others have mentioned. As far as tire wear, you need to do a chalk test to get the air pressure right. As long as you have a flat contact patch with the road, they will wear fine.
