Transmission coolers are cheap and easy to install. $40-$60ish, depending on what you get. I went slow, since I had never done this before, and still had it installed in under an hour. (By far the hardest part for me was pulling my heavy bumper/winch so I could pop the grill off. If you don't have a winch blocking it, the grill pops right off)

Here is an install write-up

You can get coolers at any autoparts store, uhaul, online, pretty much anywhere. And any decent local garage should be able to put it on for you if you don't want to do it yourself. Uhaul installs them as well.

The transmission cooler is B&M Supercooler 70268 that I bought on amazon for 46.78. Go to amazon and you will find it easily. I installed the cooler myself and it is really a very easy job. The only thing I did was buy some extra lengths of hydraulic hose so I could route the lines as I thought best.

The airsprings Air Lift 1000s are on 4Wheelparts site: http://www.4wheelparts.com/Towing-To...4108&t_pl=6921. I think they are a sponsor

Measure your rear inner coil height and call the company and they will let you know what you should buy.

Hope this helps.

I've got 33.4 tall tires , auto, and about 2 inch total lift. I towed a double axle horse trailer 340 miles and back last weekend. Total weight close to 3500lbs.

the trailer towed nice... no problems at all.

Gas milege went into low numbers! I averaged 12.5mpg over the nearly 700 miles. It was real windy.

Nothing overheated or anything, but it was only about 25 degrees out... so that might not have been the case in the dead of summer...

Finally picked up the trailer. It pulled just fine with the weight-distribution hitch and the sway bar. It definitely lacks power when pulling up hill, but we did not get bogged-down...just slow and steady. I have decided not to re-gear the Jeep, but we will add a tranny cooler.
