you are going to get tons of people saying there tires rock the world when in reality most people havent tried more than maybe 2 different tires in the same size....

I have KM2's as well. They're quiet and do great off road (Most of my offroad driving is on rocks.) They are also lighter than the Nitto's/Toyo's although I have heard great things about those too. Before my KM2's I made the mistake of buying Kumhos , They lasted maybe 35,000 miles before they became slicks.

^^^Totally agree. Not to mention, a major factor is what you plan to run them on (mud, rocks, trails, snow, etc). DD or trailer queen? D60s (weight is no issue)? Money no object and so looking for competition stickies?

I've run the KM2 in a 35 and now the MTR in a 37. While size is a factor on performance, I can tell you that the MTR's seem to hook up better in both the coarse desert sand and on the rocks. They're also quieter on the highway.

From my experience in a lighter 2 door, I'd say both are great choices, but the MTR's are superior if your wheeling conditions are similar to mine.

I can't speak on the performance of any heavier E load tires though.

You guys are 100% correct. I should have clarified! I'm currently running 305's (almost 34") KM2's but wasn't happy in the snow. I've stopped the mudding about 10 years ago, kinda over it and the cleaning. Snow, Trails, rocks, and sand is what's normal terrain around here. But jumping up to 37" tires I just wanted some feed back. I've run TSL sx, boggers, KM2's, so thinking MTZ's, durratracs, or something else. Maybe the KM2's are the best bet cause I'll know what I'm getting into.

Goodyear doesn't make the Duratrac in 37". The biggest it goes (for 17" wheels) is 315/70 R17 or about 34". I had them and they were quiet, long life tires. I moved up to 37 MTRs mainly because they didn't make the Duratrac in that size or I would have bought it. The MTR is much noisier as it is a true mud terrain tire. I can't speak to mileage yet, but I really do like Goodyear products. At 84lbs per tire they are plenty heavy, but still way lighter than some of the Nittos that a lot of people like. Unsprung weight (tires and wheels) have a serious impact on the performance or lack of performance on road. I noticed a dramatic decrease in power with the 37s. I regeared to 5.13s when I put the 35s on and it has made all the difference. I think they are actually better suited to the 37s than the 35s. My gas mileage around town has actually gone up 1 mpg to a solid 13 vs the 12 I got with the 35s.

In my experience, I would recommend the MTR Kevlar, but know that it's a bit noisier than the Duratracs. Still no worse than the other Japanese brand tires though...

Isn't there a tire comparable to a Duratrac that is made in a 37" now? Maybe it's a Kelly? Mickey Thompson had that new tire out as well that is less aggressive than a mud tire.
