37 TOYO's on stock 7.5 inch Moabs? will this work?
I have one some reading in the older threads about this but could not seem to find a strait answer. can i fit a 13.5 wide tire on a 7.5 rim. if so are there any drawbacks? im panicking as my tires arrive on saturday and i hadnt considered needing new rims
The straight answer: It will fit, but there will be pro's and cons.
Pros: Like Karl said, your tire will be held tightly in the rim, thus allowing you to air down quite a bit.
Cons: When the middle of the tire is pinched, it will cause the the tire to balloon, or crown. This means that you will have to run a much lower tire pressure on the street to get an even contact patch. Also, i'm sure you already know this, you will need at least a 1.5 inch spacer to prevent rubbing on your suspension components.
If your tires are coming soon, throw them on your stock wheels at about 26psi(estimated, you ultimately need to test and choose your pressure) and drive around like that for a while. If you like it, keep the Moabs, or otherwise start saving up for some wider wheels.

im thinking that maybe i should just bite the bullet and mount them on these so im only paying to mount once http://ww w.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/Series-7069-Flat-Black-Alloy-Wheel-by-Pro-Comp.aspx?t_c=11&t_s=210&t_pt=100073&t_pl=101930&t _pn=PXA7069-7973
7.5" with 13.5" tires is great for airing down. It's actually "poor mans beadlocks" for lack of a better phrase.
Running this setup on the street you will need to run lower psi in order to get more even tread wear. The downside is that lower PSI will wear the tread faster and decrease MPG.
The other thing to keep in mind is, if you don't use wheel spacers you will have some serious rubbing issues.
Hope that helps, cheers.
