373's with Superchip is it enough? Ready to pull the trigger on tires.
Ok I have done a ton of reading on here and would really like to here from people who are currently running this set up - particularly for a reasonable amount of time.
I have a 2010 Sahara JKU Automatic and just picked up a Flashpaq. I am currently running 32" tires on 18" wheels but planning to go with a 17" Rugged Ridge and 35" Duratracs or 33's. I have no plans to regear and this is my wife's DD and the weekend warrior.
For those that are running this set up on the 373's would you still recommend the 35's or back to a 33?
I guess my question is - is a Flashpaq enough spinach?

My wife has a 2010 JKU as her DD with 3.73 gears and 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers. Steel wheels as well. Very heavy rotational mass setup for sure as the Nittos are very heavy. The tires killed the power until we bought the flashpaq. It restored it to where it doesn't downshift at every little hill we go up. Can set the cruise at 70 and it won't come off of it going up a hill now. Before the flashpaq it would drop to 65 the downshift and up the rpms like it was going to blow up.she drives 60 miles round trip to work with her Jeep. It pulls our popup camper pretty good now too. I wouldn't be afraid to pull it to the mountains from here in central Kansas.
If you really don't want to regear then I'd say go with a 33. Flat land with 3.73 and bigger tires might be ok but if you live at higher altitude or in the mountains (I have both) 3.73's sucked even stock. Other than the cost you wouldn't have a negative effect regearing just because it's a daily driver.
im running 3.73 and 37s and i have noticed a good decrease in power but i dont care to be a speed demon in my jeep so im ok with it, but that being said i live on the gulf coast and this area is as flat as it gets so i would be concerned with the hills you would be dealing with
I've got 33's, 3.73 and the flash pack on my 09 2dr auto and I feel its right about at its limit. I dont think I would be happy with the power loss from the 35's.
Its perfect right now with the 33's, which is probably what I'll stay at until I get the funds to beef up the front and regear for larger tires.
FWIW I drive a combination of flat and hilly roads.
