Default 37s Toyo MT vs Nitto Trail Grappler

Trying to get as much info as possible between these two tires...

1) Weight?? From what ive read the Toyo 37/1350R17 weighs 92.6 lbs. The Nitto 37/1250R17 weighs 83.8lbs

Are these numbers correct.. Reason i ask is through my research i consistantly read how the Nitto is so heavy, even more than the Toyo??

I currently have Toyo MT 35/1250R17 and they have been great. Im upsizing to 37s next and im interested in the Nitto if it is truely lighter than the Toyo. Like to keep as much stress of the front D30 as possible.

2) Which is prefered, both on road and off? I know the 2 are very similiar but looking for personal opinions/experience. In the 37s the Toyo is an E load and Nitto is D load, I would assume the Nitto is a slightly softer ride on road?

Any feedback is appreciated

The Toyo is heavier because it is a wider tire, and there is more material there. As for ride, the D rated tire will be a little softer than the E rated tire.

Subscribed, in pretty much the same situation. My Toyo 35's have been awesome as far as on road wear and noise and even better off road performance but been thinking about the nitto's as well..

I agree. The one thing I've noticed after 33k miles is each tire is wearing at a different height. I watch my tire pressure consistently and rotation properly. But each one is different. It's created a slight hum but overall still quiet enough

The toyos are super wide for a 37". And won't flex as well as the load range D nitto. But, it's wider so....

Either tire is great. The tread is similar.

I say go with what is cheaper.

Toyo and Nitto are the same company and the MT and Trail Grappler are very similar tires. The E rated tire will be heavier (and firmer ride) than the D rated tire.

I just put on 37 inch Toyos and can tell you they are quiet on the freeway at 70mph and was able to bead balance them with no issues. I have only had them on for 3 days but so far they have exceeded my expectations. Iwould say you definitely can't go wrong with the Toyo.

Anyone go from a 37" MTR-k to a 37" Toyo? Likes/Dislikes about switching?

Nittos.
Zero weights to balance mine, smoother than my previous 35 KM2s, also stickier, also way better in the rain than the KM2s, also less swaying. So far they're wearing very well, still have the little dots on the threads after a few thousand miles. I know for sure Ill be getting them again once these wear out.
