Hello,

I am a new member here, I have been lurking on the site for a while though.
I am running 38's on my two door 08' Rubicon with gussets, sleeves and 5:13 gears, I can tell you from experience that things are going to fail with these heavy tires, although I am still running stock axles and I know that they will fail sooner or later but so far the axles have been hanging in there, and I have run several trails that are rated difficult here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I can say that I have put my JK through the test.
Not only do you need the be concerned about axles and steering components, big tires are going to find all the weak points in your jeep, I just finished changing out all the ball joints, tie rod ends and drag link as well as the steering stabilizer and the clutch and throw out bearing, the throw out bearing failed but while I was in there went ahead and installed the clutch.
I am running a OME Rock Father lift, and haven't included the upgrades that I have added due the flex and the type of trails that my rig sees.
