Also verify that the 4.10's are not coming out of a rubicon.

You also need to decide what size tires u want to run now and in the future. U only wanna pay for a gear swap once.

Yeah Im just wanting to put the rubi size tires on it, 255s I believe? I figured 4.10s would wake it up a bit, there just isnt much get go.. Its funny but the last web site checked didnt mention anything about a new carrier, not on the related parts or anything. Anyone know about how much these run, or maybe where I can find them? Thanks!

The carrier should be under $100.

There are a few people posting that they have regeared from 3.21 without a new carrier by doing some 'creative' shimming. So apparently it can be done, but you will be much better off getting the correct carrier for your new gears.

Another option would be to look around for a set of used rubicon axles to swap on. It will be more expensive, of course, but a much better way to go than just regearing your stock axles.

I think there is s way with the JK by going with thick gears which is in effect the same as shimming. I'm no expert on gearing by any means but thats the explanation I got from Northridge Canada.

If you're just going with Rubi sized tires, honestly, I wouldn't bother going to 4.10's. I just put 265/75R16's on my 3.21's and I hardly notice a difference TBH.

Drop the new rubber on there and if it bothers you, swap them out... But drive it first and decide. I ran 35's on my old JKU with 3.21's and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

To each his own hu. I have the 4.10 gears and turning 245/75r16's. My O.D. is running right on the edge. I would not be happy with any bigger tires.

What do you mean your od is running right on the edge? And I do plan on upping the tire ante first, as soon as I find a decent deal on some rubi takeoffs in a reasonable distance from me. Did the 265s clear without lift, by the way? Its seems like every different place you look on this site it gives a different answer as to what will actually fit haha!

I was running 285/75R16s on my 2-door without a lift for almost a year. Only time it rubbed was on full flex.
