hey guys i have a 2dr "x" with 4.10 gears. i will be getting new tires soon and was wondering if 35's are going to make my jeep a dog on the highway. i currently have 33's but just want a bigger tire. does anyone have this setup and if so hows the mileage, acceleration, and any breakage yet?

I have an unlimited X with an auto and 4.10's, and am currently running 35x12.50R17 BFG Mud KM's. It is a dog on the freeway, and has difficulty holding overdrive beyond 65MPH. It does fine in 3rd, but only gets about 13MPG. When you get it to hold overdrive it gets 19-21 with the 35's. These numbers are corrected to account for larger-tire-caused speedometer error.
Perhaps a less aggressive tread would help a little. Perhaps not.

So what are the ideal gears for someone running 35" or 37" tires with a 6 speed manual in a JK? Right now I have 3.73's......what's that gonna do with 35 or 37's?

It's bearable, but I too am saving for gears.
