Default 4.5" aev premium lift

I've reasearched a lot about this lift and get a lot of mixed reviews...I'm trying to run 37" falkens and can't decide which lift to pick. Its my dd and I hardly go offroad but I do occasionally do but not hardcore. But I want the smoothest and safest ride possible. What is your opinion about lift and would you get it in my situation? Thanks!!!

Well let me start by saying, telling someone not to run a 4.5" lift & 37s because they don't do anything hardcore......really? I have a 4.5" Trailmaster lift and run 37" Falkens. It runs and drives great. My JKU is a 6spd and I have 4.88 in the rears. It has plenty of power, easily gets out of its own way, and rides great. Don't have any of the specs on your JK but you would definately want to re gear with 37s, other than that...it sits higher and looks more aggressive than a 2" lift and 35s.
As for your question on the lift. I've read good things about AEV, that it rides and handles great, but high priced. Look at the Trailmaster kit, it is cmplete with all 8 adjustable arms, driveshafts, shocks, brakelines, it is complete. Look up Yates Hudosn on the forum here, he is the Trailmaster/OrFab rep and he can answer any questions you might have.
As for not running a larger lift and tires and not being a 'hardcore' offroader, I'm not a 'hardcore' offroader, my JK is a daily driver, but I like itrs stance and know that it does have the ability if I want to.

I've been running the AEV 4.5" premium lift with 35"s for about 50k miles. Great on road performance and good occasional offroad. I added RockKrawler adjustable arms, all 8, and adjustable track bars front and rear to get the extra I wanted off road.
With this lift and 37s, you will want to trim your pinch seem or do adjustable arms in the rear. The offer brackets to correct the front arm geometry, I opted for adjustable arms. Personal preference is all

what he said, there's nothing wrong with the kit and it will give you a good ride but take a moment and think about what you're really paying for - a ton of money for just some springs bunch of relocation brackets. rancho makes a similar kit and, if you actually looked at the brackets side by side, the rancho ones are made WAY better and yet, their kit is less than half the cost. for the amount of money you'll be spending, i would recommend that you get a kit that comes complete with new, heavy duty and adjustable replacement compontents that will give you significantly greater ground clearnace for those times that you do go even mild off roading. but, that's just my opinion.

I got the 4.5 on my 07 jku... love the lift and the road manners. after putting it on it (the lift) convinced my mom and dad to put the 3.5 premium on theirs... awesome lift cant say enough bout it... i have about 12,000 miles on the lift and off road only a few times a year, took the jeep to colorado for the all4fun event and it worked/performed great... have no complants and would recomend the lift to anyone... but like anything else do the reasearch and find the one that is going to work best for you... lift went on in about 20hrs or 4 evenings of working in a garage w/out a lift just floor jacks!! after putting the lift on it looks bigger than just 4.5" more around the 6" mark. settling has been minimal. also had to replace the drive shaft after i got home from the colorado trip due to ripping the boot.

Thanks WOL.
The system he is referring to is our SPORT system. A very popular choice for many on here.
Great bang for the buck.
Good luck on choice.

I have an AEV 4.5" and really like it. Rides great on road and has met every challenge I've wheeled Offroad. 37" Toyos at 28 psi is smoother than stock and not any louder.

What I said was my 2 cents. I have no problem with what anyone does to there rig but to tell someone not to because the don't do any hardcore wheeling. That is just rude. I never said my way was the right way, but I did answer his question. I went onto a thread, where the OP asked about 4.5" lifts and 37s. I didn't go on to a thread where someone was asking about a 2" lift and 35s and tell them not to bother, that set up is just for someone who is hardcore, and tell them they'd be happier with a 4.5" kit and 37s. Which is essentially what you did.
Everyone's JK here is an extension of their personality, whether they hardcore wheel or are mall crawlers. Either way they are here for a common thread. I don't feel there is any reason to continue this, I'm sure that you as well as anyone else who reads this thread will see that as well.

MrJones has a point. If you're primarily onroad driving, 37's will drop your mpg's down to the low teens, your CG will get worse, and getting in and out of something that high would suck for DD use. Let's be honest, run 37's only if you offroad and need the extra clearance. Just for looks is a waste of money, will cause serious drivetrain issues if you don't reinforce, is an inconvenience for daily use and you'd be teased by everyone asking you why you run such big tires if you don't offroad. Buy hey. My two cents. Not my money, not my rig, not my problem.
