Default 4:56 with 31s ?

hi

I have the SC flashpaq, CAI, catback , throttle body spacer , removed the two catalysts that don't have oxegen sensors and an electric fan

my current gears now 3.73

I think the last thing I can get more power from it is changing gears

I am running (275-70-r16) tires which is about 31.4 . I am sticking to this size ,and I am not going to go bigger because in my region, it is better to drive in desert with light tires

So, what about running 4:56 gears ?

how will be the driving on road ?

what is the maximum speed i can go with this ratio ?

I need about 100 mph for my max speed

well this might not help or anything but i do know the rubicons have a 4:10 with 32's so i guess it depends on what you want to get out wither you want it to be a little less for on road or more for off road, but i would think that you should try somewhere about there and go from there, but my friend he is running 33' on a stock x and he has had no problem with it.

You'll be screaming on normal highway driving (if you do that). 100mph would be like 5000rpm? guessing if you have a manual

With 4.88 gears, 4386 rpm.

With 5.13 gears, 4611 rpm.

All well under redline.
Thats not too bad rpm wise, but I don't think the 3.8L can hold it

The JK redlines at over 5000 rpm.

I really think that you'd need the horsepower of the higher rpm levels to maintain that kind of speed and should at least go with 4.88s.

so you are saying even 5.13 would be fine

I can go 100 mph with the 5.13 and 31.4 ?

That is the Mfg's tire height. But what is the 'actual' height on your jeep at current inflation and load? 30.5" or so? Be sure to use the actual height for any rpm calcs.

Lay a 2x4 across the top of the tire, then use a tape measure or yardstick to measure from the board to the ground.

Or some arcane formula where you mark the tire, roll forward one complete rotation, measure the distance between the marks, then multiply and divide the square root and factor in the phase of the moon...
